Lochranza Campsite, Arran

A stunning site for camping…

Situated on the shores of a small sea loch on the northern tip of Arran, Lochranza village is picture-postcard perfect with its striking 13th-century castle set against stunning north-facing mountain slopes.

The site itself is on a spacious flat clearing surrounded by lush glens and divided into informal grassy pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes just a 10-minute walk from the village. They also offer hard standing pitches and electric hook-ups.

Facilities include showers, hairdryers, toilets, dishwashing sinks, an outdoor cooking shelter and chemical disposal.

The site also offers four camping pods which sleep up to four people, 2 on a double bed and 2 on the floor, they have lights, electric sockets, and a heater but no other furnishings. The pods also don’t accept dogs and are affordably priced from £30 to £40 per night.

Camping prices range from £12 per night for a medium tent and one person to £36 for a huge tent and two adults. Two adults in a motorhome, campervan or caravan can expect to pay from £15 to £27 per night.

The site and its facilities are found to be spotless with everything you need for a wonderful stay. The staff onsite and very friendly, helpful and numerous!

If you’re into golf, the village is home to a beautiful 9-hole course after which you might want to visit the Lochranza Hotel for some local seafood or take a tour of the distillery to try Arran’s single malt or creamy whisky liqueur.

Very close to the Lochranza distillery and many amazing walks and an array of wildlife and close to the car ferry terminal linking to the Kintyre peninsula, this site can either be an excellent start to your Arran adventure or a relaxing perfect finish.
